CS2 Solution Types

  • Interactive Services: involves the ability to connect multiple locations into a real-time two-way interactive network, mostly involving audio and video and includes Distance Learning and Telemedicine
  • Continuity of Operations (COOP): involves the pre-planned establishment and deployment of a backup or alternative communications infrastructure in anticipation that a natural or human caused event disables or destroys the normal, primary communications infrastructure
  • Broadcast Satellite Services (BSS): involves the collection of voice/video/data into one central site and distribution of that information typically one-way to multiple fixed and/or mobile locations
  • Emergency Responder Operations: involves an ad-hoc, immediate need communications requirement that eventually reverts back to communications infrastructure previously used
  • Direct Warfighter Operations: involves the creation of an often preplanned, enabling communications infrastructure to support specific Warfighter operations, typically because no pre-existing communications infrastructure is available
  • Steady State Operations: involves long duration, baseline communications services and infrastructure to support enduring user requirements

SES GS will provide COMSATCOM system engineering design, configuration, installation, implementation, training, and on-going maintenance and operational support necessary to deliver a COMSATCOM solution. The contract was awarded to Americom Government Services doing business as SES Government Solutions.

Current End-to-End Solutions Supported by SES GS

U.S. Army TROJAN

SES GS delivers and manages broadband SATCOM services in support of a global U.S. Army data network dedicated to worldwide information exchange, including network design and engineering, O&M and bandwidth allocation management. This program represents the largest Government contract ever awarded to SES, with a total potential value of more than $286 million.

DIA VSAT Network (DIVN)

Since its inception, SES Government Solutions has delivered global bandwidth and SATCOM solutions to military intelligence personnel in support of the DIVN program. Beyond bandwidth provided on board the SES fleet, SES Government Solutions has provided customized terminals and teleport hubs providing DoD internet connectivity, video conferencing and general telecommunications capabilities through its secure and non-secure networks to and from strategically important regions around the world.

Commercial Broadband Satellite Communication Program

SES GS is a teammate on the contract for the U.S. Navy’s Commercial Broadband Satellite Program (CBSP), providing key elements of the end-to-end solution including satellite bandwidth, teleport services and program management.
